Magnet Master is a software tool designed to assist users in planning for surgery involving electrocautery in patients with cardiac devices. It is based on the widely recognized consensus guideline document titled "The Perioperative Management of Patients with Implantable Defibrillators, Pacemakers, and Arrhythmia Monitors: Facilities and Patient Management" (Crossley GH et al, Heart Rhythm, Vol 8, No 7, July 2011, pages 1114-1136).

The user begins by filling out a patient profile, providing information about the surgical location and pacemaker dependence. Based on this input, the software generates a comprehensive plan that offers guidance on whether to use a device magnet or reprogram the device. In addition, the program provides details about how the device will respond to magnet application and includes contact information for device manufacturers and their representatives.

Magnet Master is particularly useful for anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare practitioners involved in surgical procedures. By implementing the measures recommended by this software, they can effectively minimize the potential negative effects of electrocautery on device function.

The generated report can be easily shared via email or text message and can also be printed using AirPrint-enabled printers.
